Footy fans have the chance to see this year’s grand finalists in action when the South Sydney Rabbitohs take on the St George Illawarra Dragons for the fifth annual Charity Shield in Mudgee on Saturday, 26 February.

Tickets for the clash go on sale to the general public at 10am tomorrow Thursday, 11 November via 123tix.com.au

The Charity Shield will be the first major sporting event in the region since mid-2021 and fans are encouraged to take advantage of an NRL game in their own backyard.

Mid-Western Regional Council General Manager, Brad Cam said fans should secure their tickets fast with NSW experiencing a huge appetite for in-person events.

“I am excited to welcome the South Sydney Rabbitohs, St George Illawarra Dragons and supporters back to the region,” Mr Cam.

“What could be better than watching two of the NRL’s best teams, including last year’s grand finalists in the best regional open air stadium in NSW.

“Council’s partnership with the Rabbitohs and Dragons has gone from strength to strength and every year Glen Willow has proven it is a professional sporting venue, capable of hosting national and international games.”

It will be the fifth time the Mudgee stadium has played host to the annual pre-season game as part of a six year partnership between Mid-Western Regional Council, the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the St George Illawarra Dragons, extending to 2023.
