Community Invited to have a say on future plans
Published on 14 January 2025
Since November, Council has been engaging extensively with the community to review and update the region's long-term plan.
As part of the next phase of community engagement, residents will have the opportunity to give their input in a series of brief online surveys each week for the next six weeks.
These surveys will deep dive into responses received during face-to-face and broader surveys.
The responses will be used in developing Council’s Community Plan, a shared long-term vision for where we want to be as a community by 2040. Developed collaboratively between the community and Council, it reflects the aspirations of Mid-Western Region residents and includes strategies to achieve these goals.
Acting General Manager, Alina Azar thanked residents for their input so far and encouraged residents to take part in the online surveys.
“Each survey will take less than three minutes to complete and the insights we gain will be invaluable in helping us to develop the Towards 2040 Community Plan,” Ms Azar said.
“The more people who participate the greater our understanding is in what the community wants for the future.
“This first survey is asking residents what they wish to see for long-term strategic priorities and in coming weeks we will look at individual projects/issues.
“We’d like to thank everyone who has participated in either face-to-face engagements the Community News survey, school students postcards and focus groups, the response so far has been fantastic.
“Even if you’ve already participated, we are encouraging you to jump online and help us with these very short surveys.”
Surveys can be found on Council’s website at midwestern.nsw.gov.au or via Council’s Facebook page. Alternative more general feedback can be provided on a broader community engagement survey.
