Council has commenced its budget planning for the next financial year and is encouraging residents to submit proposals as part of the process. Residents can put forward Community Plan Proposals for new infrastructure, projects, activities and improvements throughout the region to be considered in the 2025/26 Operational Plan.

The Operational Plan sets out the projects and activities which Council is committed to over the coming financial year, as well as measures and time frames to achieve this.

The plan includes Council’s Revenue Policy (Rating Model), 2025/26 proposed Fees and Charges, Capital Works program, Annual Budget and Delivery Program.

Council’s General Manager, Brad Cam said a Community Plan Proposal is the best way for residents to ask Council for new projects, infrastructure or activities.

“We’re currently planning for the next financial year and that includes all projects and activities we will commit to,” Mr Cam said.

“So if there’s something you’d like to see Council undertake, whether that’s footpaths, waste, or signage, now is the time to let us know about it.”

Successful Community Plan Proposals that have recently been completed include Christmas Trees for Mudgee, Gulgong, Rylstone and Kandos; Lawson Park Playground upgrades; electric barbecue at Kandos Playground and a BMX pump track.

Community Plan Proposals are now open and close Friday, 10 January, proposals can be submitted via Council’s website.
