Access to a section of the Lawson Park entry, on the corner of Short and Church streets, will be interrupted for two weeks as Council undertakes footpath improvements.

The upgrade will focus specifically on the section of pathway located at the western end of Lawson Park, near the corner of Short Street and Church Street - an area frequently used for local markets and community events.

The existing aged bitumen paths will be replaced with a 2.5-metre-wide concrete shared pathway, improving safety, accessibility, and connectivity. The new path will also link with the existing shared path network throughout the park.

To ensure works proceed safely and efficiently, the construction area will be fully closed to pedestrian access during this time.

Works are scheduled to begin on Monday, 28 April and end Friday, 9 May, weather permitting.

Council apologises for any inconvenience and thanks the community for their understanding and cooperation.
