Spot Joe Rider

Spot high vis motorcycle riders around the region this month for your chance to win a daily prize as part of a national road safety campaign.

As part of Motorcycle Awareness Month this October, Council is encouraging drivers to spot ‘Joe Rider’.

From 28 October to 2 November, drivers and their passengers are encouraged to look out for motorcyclists dressed as Joe Rider and report their sighting online to enter a draw to win daily Mudgee Money vouchers.

Joe Riders will be travelling on local roads throughout the week, wearing a yellow high vis vest with the Joe Rider Logo printed on the back.

Council’s Road Safety Officer, Sammy Cecchini said the aim of the campaign is to bring awareness to motorcyclists sharing the roads.

“Motorcycle riders are more exposed than other road users,” Ms Cecchini said.

“If they are involved in a crash, they risk serious injury or death. A common risk for riders is not being seen at intersections or while changing lanes.”

Sightings can be reported on Council’s website. A daily prize of $50 Mudgee Money is up for grabs.

This will be the third year Council has worked with Transport for NSW to coordinate the campaign locally.
