NRL Trial Game Wrap Up

In a thrilling NRL trial game held at Glen Willow Stadium, fans gathered eagerly to watch the St George Illawarra Dragons and the Wests Tigers go head-to-head, setting the stage for the upcoming season.

Some 4,962 people made their way to Glen Willow Stadium to see St George Illawarra Dragons defeat Wests Tigers 34 - 18.

Mayor of the Mid-Western Region, Des Kennedy has said that “The game was a success and it was fantastic to see locals and visitors enjoying themselves at a great evening out”

“The event ran smoothly with fans experiencing a seamless flow to and from the stadium”.

“Hosting NRL games at Glen Willow significantly boosts the local economy. Events like the Rylstone Show and the Country Championships horse race contributed to a great weekend filled with entertainment”.

Council estimates from economic data that approximately $950,000 was spent in the region over the weekend, at restaurants, cafes, retailers, and accommodation providers.
