Residents of the Mid-Western Local Government Area (LGA) are invited to take part in the 'CASS' (Community Action for Safe Speeds) Study, an initiative aimed at involving the community in shaping safer roads.

The George Institute for Global Health and the University of New South Wales are assembling a community jury of local residents to deliberate on driving speed issues and help shape recommendations for local education and awareness programs aimed at promoting safe road speeds.

The 'CASS' Study allows participants to join a community discussion and propose solutions on how to encourage safe driving speeds in their area. Participants will meet in four sessions over four weeks to hear from experts, deliberate with fellow community members, and help shape initiatives that could directly improve road safety in their community.

Eligibility requires participants to be 18 years or older, able to commit to four meetings, comfortable speaking English, and living, working, or frequently driving through the Mid-Western Regional LGA. Jury members will be paid by The George Institute to cover time and expenses during participation.

Qualifications and experience are not required to participate. Expressions of interest are open until 30 September, Council encourages residents to register and contribute to enhancing road safety through research participation.
