Due to inaccessibility and hazardous conditions following heavy snow falls across the region overnight, Council teams will not be undertaking any road clearing until conditions improve.

Council is aware of fallen trees, however many areas are now inaccessible due to heavy snow and ice.

Council’s General Manager, Brad Cam said motorists should delay all non-essential travel throughout the region.

“We’re urging residents to please keep travel to an absolutely minimum and drive only for essential reasons as road conditions continue to worsen particularly in our alpine regions,” Mr Cam said.

“There are reports of heavy snow in the southern areas of the Local Government Area.

“Because of this inaccessibility, our crews will not be clearing roads until the weather conditions improve and motorists should exercise extreme caution if they do need to travel.”
