Roadworks on Ulan Road to commence in October

Council will be conducting stage one of essential roadworks on Ulan Road, Mudgee, between Lawson Creek North and the entrance to Mudgee Racecourse. These works involve full road rehabilitation to address significant damage from the 2022 floods and improve overall driving conditions.

A full road closure is scheduled for the following dates, weather permitting:

• 21–25 October

• 28–29 October

• 5 November

The road will remain open on weekends and on weekdays outside of these closure dates. Please note that the schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen delays, with updates provided throughout the works as required.

During the works, all traffic will be redirected via a detour through Putta Bucca Road, rejoining Ulan Road at the Henry Lawson Drive intersection. Access to and from Lue Road and Pitts Lane from Mudgee will not be affected. River Drive at Glen Willow Sporting Complex is not a designated detour route and will be closed overnight.

Stage 2 works including rehabilitation of Ulan Rd between Short St roundabout and Pitts Lane Roundabout are anticipated to occur early in 2025.

Motorists are encouraged to follow detours through Mudgee and Putta Bucca Road. Council appreciates your patience and cooperation as we work to improve our region’s road network.
